Dates…
The six coaching sessions in the package will take place between July 8th - September 9th. (There will be no coaching or feedback on July 29th - August1st).
During our first session we will make arrangements for future sessions at convenient times during UK working hours (8am to 8pm.)

The deadline to enroll on the coaching plan is Monday July 8th. Demand for spaces has been much higher than I was expecting, so you’ll need to act quickly if you’d like to secure a place.
To do so, I’d first like to have a 15-minute video chat with you so I can get to know a little more about your Chinese learning background and pronunciation goals.

What does the academy involve?

You’ll have an initial one-on-one video coaching session, lasting 45 minutes, with me. In this session, we’ll discuss your pronunciation issues, isolate the main problems, set your goals, and create a daily homework plan for you.

You’ll then have seven subsequent weekly video coaching sessions - each lasting 45 minutes. Each session will involve personalised advice and specific exercises to guide you through the process of fixing your issues and monitor your progress.

Sessions will take place mostly in English with some reading, speaking, and training exercises in Chinese.

Daily homework and pronunciation feedback

Following each coaching session you’ll be given daily pronunciation homework exercises to do. During weekdays throughout July and August, you’ll be given daily feedback and corrections on your pronunciation by me via voice recordings. You will be able to send me one 60-second voice recording every weekday except for coaching days.

You’ll also have unlimited access to me by email throughout the duration of your coaching plan. So if you ever have any questions about anything or need any support or advice, I’ll reply to you within 48 hours on work days.

Where Will The Retreat Take Place?The next retreat will take place at Model Farm Country House in Somerset, south-west England. The farmhouse address is Model Farm Country House, Perry Green, Wembdon, Bridgwater TA5 2BA.

Will Transport Be Provided To The Retreat?We provide pick-up from Bristol train station to and from the farmhouse. If you require pickup please let us know in advance.

How Long Can I Stay On A Peak Mandarin Retreat?Our Summer Retreat lasts two weeks in total. On the bookings page, you will be given the option of booking either one week or two weeks of deep immersion.

Will I Have My Own Private Bedroom and Bathroom?Yes, all of the students attending our retreats will have a private bedroom with en-suite bathroom.

How Can I Secure My Place?To secure your place, simply click the button saying 'Book Your Place'. This will take you to the bookings page where you can select the length of your stay. You will then be asked to pay a deposit which is 25% of the total amount. After doing so, payment of the remainder will be arranged.

Is My Deposit Refundable?The 25% deposit you pay to secure your place is non-refundable. If, due to unforeseen circumstances, we are forced to cancel the event, you will be given a full refund of your deposit.

What Forms Of Payment Do You Accept?We accept all major credit cards, debit cards, and Paypal.

What Is The Ratio of learners to fluent Mandarin speakers?On our retreats, we do our best to maintain a 50-50 ratio of learners to fluent Mandarin speakers at all times. Most trips will have seven learners and seven fluent Mandarin speakers. The fluent Mandarin speakers include professional, native Mandarin tutors, native speaker volunteers and fluent language coaches.

Are Children Allowed to Join?At the moment we do not accept children on our summer retreats.

Can I Bring My Pet On a Retreat?Unfortunately, we do not allow pets on our retreats.

Is there parking available on-site?Yes, we have 10 parking spaces available at the farmhouse.
